Those last 10 lbs.

It is so hard losing these last 10 lbs.!!! Plus, I keep asking myself why don't you feel you have lost weight, 22 lbs. since MFP and a total of 38. I certainly know I have, but as long as I have a belly, I am going to feel/see that I am still overweight. I also don't feel as firm as I would like to. My arms look great, my lower legs look great, but my waist to mid thighs don't have the shape I want them to have.
Awwww those self-defeating mind games.

I am working on the last 5. it is never easy. It gets harder to stay focused. I just keep trying on my smallest clothes. Seems to keep me on track more than anything.0

right there with both of you!0 -
Yes the last ones are the hardest.. sometimes it's because we think we need to lose them, but our bodies feel well with them, and sometimes it's just because there is not so much between the tdee/bmr and the deficit...
But just go on... move.. do exercises or dancing or walking in the sun or rain.. this helps your muscles burning!
Enjoy and good luck!
I'm almost there with you - on the last 7 kg ;-)0 -
reading stuff like that makes me realize the reason why my ultimate goal is not a number on the scale0

The closer to goal the harder it is. I need to drop the last 10 too and I am struggling.0

When we're working on what are truly vanity pounds, it's hard if we're not as vain as we think we are.0

That doesn't seem to be her goal either. She wants to lose her gut, and having a gut usually means one is still overweight, if only a bit in some cases.0 -

you can't spot reduce... the other parts of the body may look "great" but they still have some fat on them and if she wants to eliminate her stomach she has to get leaner... and the way to get leaner especially around the stomach area is to tighten what you put into your mouth.0 -
My ultimate goal was, and continues to be, off blood pressure medicine....happy to say that occurred months ago! I feel so much better, healthier. With that said I am NOT focusing on just a number, it is a healthy choice of where I want to be. I know the healthiest weight for me is 150 to 155 and I am not vain in knowing that. I was just admitting my faults of weight loss mind games that play havoc sometimes.0

Thank you for sharing that information, I wish you continued success!0

Maybe what you really need is exercise.
Diet changes your weight. Exercise changes your shape at whatever weight. While you're losing those last frustrating pounds work out to make yourself look better whereever you are.0 -

Ain't that the truth!0 -
Alright,
I'm gonna bust out the cheesy up-in-herr:
"It's the journey, not the destination."
I have never come across a person whose actually hit that 'last 5' marker. It seems as if once we reach our goals we set even higher goals on top of them and sometimes they're barely attainable if at all (but never let yourself believe that).
It's human nature to want what we can't have - and once we have it, we don't want it anymore or it's not enough.
You can do whatever you set your mind to.
Good luck!0 -
I am 3 lbs from my goal weight and still have a bit of a "gut" that I don't like. That said, I am 52 and at a healthy weight (5'4" 133 lbs) and a healthy BF% (26%) so now I know that exercise will pull in that tummy and I am working on 3 more lbs. Now the exercise becomes more important to meet my goals.0
