I Need Help With Free-Weights

Hey friends!!

I need your help.

I've decided to start weight-lifting at home instead of going to the gym (my gym at my school is so busy I spend most of my time waiting to use the weights rather than actually lifting them), but I don't even know where to start.

My questions are:

1.) I have to purchase free-weights, how heavy and what type?

2.) How long do I need to spend lifting (minutes per workout and how many times a week), how much is too much?

3.) What moves/ routine should I follow? When I look up free weight lifting moves it seems like a lot of them work the same muscle groups, is that good or how it's supposed to work?

4.) Arms and legs different days, or does it not matter?

This entire time I have been using the circuit weight machines rather than the free weights, so I'm incredibly clueless. I know that free weights are better and require more of your entire body, but I don't know how to really use them, what moves to do, how long to use them, how many times a week, what moves are repetitive, etc.

I would appreciate your advice.

Thank you so much in advance!! :flowerforyou:
