Hi everyone

This site has been GREAT for me....
I've gone from 155 to 138 (5 '7ish+)
I'm so happy about the weight loss but a little bummed...that my problem areas are still significant
I feel like I have the same shape...just smaller....ugh
I'm going to be 35 very shortly and had 2 kids 18 mnths apart (now 2 1/2 and 4)
So, for those that have had kids..you know my pain....is there anything you can do to tighten or improve the look of your stomach/love handles after kids?

I don't have much time for exc....walk on my treadmill as much as possible....thinking of trying yoga/ or another DVD/tape

Toning. Take up a toning class or buy some toning type DVD's. Keep up the walking for sure! And I've heard that the South Beach Diet is supposed to take care of those areas - something about the type of fat we store there due to the type of carbs you eat. I haven't tried it yet, though.

you are doing great with the weight loss, keep it up.

I have the same problem. I have lost about 8 pounds so far, but find I don't seem to be losing too much belly fat, yet. Over all the same shape, just smaller. I think, myself, keep up with as much exercise as you can, even walking loses more than sitting on the couch, and as you keep losing the amount of fat goes with the rest of the weight. All-over wherever you need it.

My point is you will eventually notice you have lost where you want to, but we don't seem to lose just where and what we want. Aren't our bodies amazing!

Kimber, Make time to add weight training to what you're doing. It doesn't have to be fancy or time consuming.

    Greetings Kim!

I hope you will consider bellydance...it will tone your whole body and also be a cardio routine...There are several DVDs out there...live classes are the ultimate fun...there are a few dancer's at this site as well...hope you will give it a try...you will be amazed at the workout and it is just so enjoyable!

    Good luck,

  • I have the same problem, after having two kids my love handles don't stop. lol I feel like I'm losing weight, but I don't feel like I'm losing my love handles. HELP!
  • I'm in the same boat....always the belly fat. I think I'll take the advice to try and and cut carbs out of my diet for a while.

Weight training is great for firming up, strengthening bones, and adding muscle which helps burn more calories. My favorite home DVD workouts are from www.cathe.com. Most workouts are about 45 min. - 1 hour, but with DVDs you can easily pick and choose which segmants you want to do and, therefore, shorten your workout. She also has an AB workout (Ab Hits) which has 7 ab routines that range from about 8 - 12 min. each. If anyone is interested in hearing about her other DVDs, I own all of them and can tell you my favorites! :flowerforyou:
