Title says it all really....is it easier to shift weight if it's only been on you for a year or two than weight that you have been carrying for many years?
Yes, I'm having a slow day and my mind is wandering!!
Thanks all

are you asking if the weight you lose first is the most recent fat stored on your body?
i really don't know the answer. but, does it matter? fat is fat. losing it no matter where it comes from is a good thing if you have too much of it, right?
the consensus seems to be that belly fat is the first to appear, but the last to go. if that's true, then the body might burn fat on a LIFO principle (last in, first out), so in that sense the answer would be yes. i just don't know if that's true. might be interesting to know for purely theoretical reasons i guess...0 -

I was thinking the same thing. I would think it would be easier to lose the recent weight first, but overall I look at all the weight I have to lose and it's the same to me.0 -
I'm not exactly sure what I mean!
I was just thinking, for example, if someone piled on say 98lbs/7 stone in a year if it would be easier for their body to let go of it faster than someone who has always carried an extra 98lbs/7 stone?
Like I said...having a slow day...but it's bugging me now!0 -
bump...still wondering!0

When it's a matter of days or weeks, absolutely. When the scale was recently up about 8 pounds for me after a bad month, I got back on track and it was the fastest 8 pounds I've lost - gone in a week. But fat that's been there a year? It seems just as hard as the stuff that's been there for years.0
