Hi All, Has anyone tried this blender? I'm thinking of getting it for my morning protein smoothie but want to know if it chops up the ice and frozen fruit ok? Right now I'm using a full size blender and its a pain to wash everyday. With the My Blender I like that the container is what you take with you to drink the smoothie from.

Mine worked great, it blended ice and frozen fruit so smooth. Unfortunately after a month on daily used the motor burned up. I loved it but wish it was better quality.

You can buy a cheap blender that gives poor results or will need to be replaced every few years or you can buy something that will last forever. Ask any vitamix owner and they will tell you it is well worth the investment. Reconditioned models are available it you can't afford a new one. It is a powerful workhorse. I have used mine several times a day for 15 years and it is still like new. I even own one that is close to 50 years old and is still going strong. The only reason I upgraded was because the old one was olive green and has a smaller container. It's easy enough to pour into a commuter carafe or a disposable cup with a lids/straw to take to school/work. It grinds grains/nuts/coffee beans/ ice etc with ease so it has no problem with fruit and veggies. I have a family of 4. If we go to Jamba Juice or Starbucks for smoothies or frappes it's close to $20 a trip. At those prices it doesn't take long to pay for a vitamix. Then we can make healthier versions far cheaper at home. Since my kids have never lived a day without one - It is a must have when they move out. Once you have one you will never go back to any other blender. - No I'm not a salesperson for the company - just a fan. The manufacturer stands behind their product in a way that is rare in today;s society. A container had developed a hairline crack that did not effect it's use at all. It probably happened after the kids dropped it on the floor one too many times while unloading the dishwasher. It was past the 7 year warranty mark. When I called to order a replacement they sent a new one free of charge because they said the container should not have failed.
