So I'm going on a road trip to Wisconsin to North Carolina in 11 days, and I'm only going to be able to eat food from gas stations for 17 hours. I don't wanna completely ruin my diet, so I was wondering if you guys know any food from the gas stations that is okay to eat? Thanks alot<3

Pack your own food and bring it with you. I took a road trip to Florida and we filled a cooler with ice and brought fruit and sandwich stuff plus other little healthy goodies.0

Why can't you pack any food to take with you? If for some odd reason that's completely unfeasible, I'd stick to jerky, yogurt and fruit from the gas stations. Trail mix would be decent as long as you don't get one with scads of chocolate. Nuts are good.0

^^ Agreed...
If packing your own food is an option, it is your best bet... otherwise you might get stuck with twinkies, moon pies, pop tarts and those hot dogs that revolve in the case that have been there since the gas station first opened.. :sick:0 -
I took a 7.5 hour road trip to Niagara Falls, Canada a few weeks ago and absolutely NONE of the food in the gas stations was worth eating. Pre-packageg sandwhiches were 700-950 calories, muffins were 650 calories, and dried fruit was some ridiculous amount as well. We wound up stopping at Subway. All fast food restaurants in NY are required to post the calories to their food in the store on the menus. I know its not the same in other places but if you choose a 6inch sub with meat and no special creamy sauces you can eat reasonable for 350-500 calories.
You can just pack food that does not require refrigeration such as peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches or bring a small cooler to keep cold cuts cold. You will not find anything good to eat at a gas station.0 -
Beef Jerkey, Water, Peanuts, Pretzels, Almonds in moderation should hold you over until you can hit a Subway. Otherwise really not a whole lot to choose from.0

What everyone else said. A cooler with your own food. Road side food is hit or miss. Some road stops have actual restaurants with real food. But many don't Why risk it? The midwest corridor is not quite as well appointed as the east coast corridor.0

PACK YOUR FOOD. HAVE FRUITS, PROTEIN BARS (MET RX ARE MY PREFERENCE) COOLER WITH GOOD DRINKS0

You can definitely bring at least some of your own food...
Good gas station picks are:
*Individual packages of nuts
*Many have a small selection of fruit like apples & bananas
*Skim/Low fat milk
*Protein bars (I like Luna bars)
*Yogurt
*String cheese
*Individual cereal packages
*Individual wheat crackers (like triscuits)
*V8 veggie juice
*Water! Drink extra when you travel!0 -
Pack your own food. Bring a small ice chest/cooler to keep whatever needs to stay cold. Get ice as needed at gas stations along the way.0

I'm with everyone else in recommending that you pack a small cooler. In addition to helping you stay on track, you'll find it saves a lot of money!0
