Season change?

This might be a silly question to ask, but does anyone else have a super hard time trying to work out as the days get colder and shorter? In the spring and the summer, I feel like I can destroy any workout that comes at me. As the days are getting colder though, I'm having a harder time and feel like just putting on my workout clothes is a workout :-(. Trying to get out of the slump, but this time of year I just have such a case of the blahs. I hate it! I am going to look into a gym membership (Planet Fitness just opened in my town, and I think I can part with $10 a month without issue!), because I'm hoping being in an actual gym setting will encourage me, but workouts at home and I are not getting along anymore. Any suggestions?

Warmer colors! I remember feeling similar to you when the weather would change. My living room, where I spend the majority of my time during the days, was painted a deep plum. It made me feel cold and bleh. I painted the room bright apple green and now every day feels cheerful and even on the darkest of days, I have a bright, inviting space.

You might have a seasonal mood disorder. :<

Yes! I have the same problem.
It's starting to get below zero temps here now, so once I get home from work I really don't feel like waiting for the car to warm up, driving 20 minutes into town & working out. It's dark by 6pm now, so that doesn't help :) Puts me in lazy mode.

We can do it though! Just gotta get it done :)

I have this exact same problem. A few things I've tried that have worked to combat this include 1) taking my workout clothes to work, changing and going straight to the gym/park right after I leave work 2) kept my sleep schedule as regular as possible (that meant not staying up super late on weekends and waking up like I would during the weekdays on Sat/Sun) 3) started taking vitamin d.

I've looked into getting a sun lamp as well. I've battled with this for years and this year happens to be the year it 'flares up' early :/ Good luck and I hope you find some solutions that work for you!

I'm a counselor and I know the effects of this time of year all too well. It is hard and I dread the impending darkness that is winter in the days to come. But we can do it. We must... for ourselves!

I'm also at a point where I know, deep down, I desperately want to move to AZ where the weather is considerably warmer and sunnier year round, and we're now heading into a season that is dark and cold dreary here in NY. Totally not helping anything :-(
