Some days are so frustrating..

So I've been with this weight loss thing for awhile. But I always fall off the planet a few months in, go back to my old habits, then reality hits me once more and I start all over again. The last time I tried losing weight everything was going okay. I didn't really lift weights because I'm more of a runner type person. I lost weight no problem. I ate the correct number of cals/cut out the crap/etc.

I started up again a few weeks ago this time with strength training. I bench, squat, free weights, the whole thing..along with cardio. Except this time I am seeing NO results. I've been told that it's just that I'm gaining muscle. But I know women don't gain muscle that fast? On average I've heard it's around 12 pounds a year if that. I've been at the same weight with no inches lost for almost a month.

I'm just losing my motivation. I always thought weight lifting would burn fat but it just seems like it's making it stick to me even more! I run 4-6 times a week usually 3+ miles a day. It's hard for me to eat lots of protein due to current situations but I try to get as much in me as possible. I figured that could possibly be the problem?

Any encouraging advice is greatly appreciated. I know I should give it time, it's just frustrating because I've never had problems with this before...but now that I'm lifting heavy it feels like I'm not getting anywhere.
