I miss noodles. Love noodles, if someone allowed me to I'd eat them everyday. However they're not optimal for my needs so I've been avoiding them. Well avoiding no more! There are these wonderfully packages of noodles in the tofu section of your local grocery store. Tofu? Yes tofu, called Shirataki noodles. Made from only tofu and water, an entire 8oz package is only 40 calories! They taste like the no yolk eggs noodles. Add some tomateo sauce and veggies, maybe so protein and you have a delicious meal. While no exactly the same consistancy of noodles it's pretty darn close! And a very acceptable substitute for me.

You should also try kelp noodles and spaghetti squash. Both also good alternatives.

I think the tofu ones and the shirataki ones are different, shirataki has 0 calories but the tofu has 40. I was talking about them in a post earlier :) both are good though.. I love tofu, maybe I'll try them

No idea about the difference. However mine are labeled "Tofu Shirataki noodles" therefore that's what I wrote. Anyways I'm sure the 40 calories difference isnt that big of a deal.
  • I tried soy peanut butter since I am allergic to the real thing and had a terrible depression and mood reaction to consuming something that is almost pure soy. Tofu is supposed to have lots of benefits for women, but beware of the real possibility of depression and mood changes. Lots of cases have been carefully studied and documented.

I'm not too worried. This is probably the only source of soy in my diet.
