I know this topic has been beaten to death but.....

I have seen so many people post something similar to my story but I never really read the thread because at the time it wasn't an issue and I didn't have a clue how to help.
Anyway, I have been losing about 1-2 lbs a week for a little while now, and I was totally happy with that. Sometimes after a bad weekend I would gain a couple pounds but that would be gone by Wednesday and by the end of the week I would be down a pound or two more.
I am a little concerned because I have lost over 7 lbs in the last 7 days. I admit that on some of my days my intake calories weren't as high as they could have been and my exercise routine has remained the same. I weight lift 3 times a week and I really don't want any of that 7lbs to be muscle. Can someone tell me what happened and how I straighten this out, beside the obvious "eat more". I just don't see how the same diet and exercise program could all of a sudden lead to a pound a day when for the last two months I have been just steadily going along at a moderate pace.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I honestly don't know what to tell you to do differently than what you already said to do if you're not eating enough.. Eat more. But I will say that if you did lose fat and muscle it probably wasn't all fat and muscle. Some of it could have been water weight.0

Just as you had stated about your weight going up after a "bad weekend" because of excess carbs and sodium, a week of excess restriction or eating "super clean" can have a similar affect. There are a lot of things that contribute to fluctuations on the scale so don't be surprised of you don't lose anything next week. What the scale reflects is not a linear 1-2 pound loss, but as long as in general the scale is going in the down direction, keep on doing what you're doing.0

While I think don't look a gift horse in the mouth, have you been urinating a lot more than usual this last week? There have been times I have dropped 5-10 suddenly which ends up scaring me and I start eating a lot. I never put it together till afterwards I dropped at least twice as much water in the terlit than I drank.0

One, eat more. You said, so try
Two, TOM isn't anywhere close, right? That seems to throw my body into weird fits.
Maybe you found a good point where it's just coming off.
Remember, if you are basing your cals on your BMR & TDEE, it needs to be re-done after every 5 pound loss. Also, be honest with your activity level. I just re-did mine and realized I was under what I should be. My new number is higher (moderate activity level) so eating that may be difficult.
Hang in there and be glad it's falling off. There will come a time you'll be the other way and wish it was doing this0 -
I started losing a pound a day for a week or so - it was weird.
I got a new scale and it came back. Sad, but true.0 -
Just keep doing what you're doing. When I was in my 'losing mode' (total 70lbs lost) it seemed that I would go through cycles where I would lose a pound or two, sometimes only a fraction of a pound, sometimes a slight gain, for three or four weeks in a row. Then, the next week, I would be down four or five pounds! There was no apparent reason for this, it never seemed to be quite in tune with my monthly cycle, and it was never when I did any sort of change up in my diet or exercise routine. It just seemed like whatever I was doing, my body just would maintain for a few weeks and then let it go all at once. It is not unusual - I wouldn't make any major adjustments. Like another poster said, maybe your increased deficit that one week was just the impetus your body needed to let it go.0

Thank you everyone, I just want to make sure I am doing this the healthy way and not hurting myself. I will take all of your advice and put it to good use.0
