So while I was living in Western Australia, I managed to get myself a great understanding on what packaged foods were the best.

I discovered low calorie and sodium soups, great sugar-free products and so forth.

Now I have come to the US with little knowledge of what products I should buy.

I do like snack ideas. Snacks which are high in fibre, protein etc

so far I have discovered egg whites sold in cartons (in australia, we could buy egg whites but they were frozen which I found annoying)

I have also purchased some fiber one bars. I tried one today. Deeeelicious! ^_^

I will be on the look out for skinny cow ice creams and I also purchased some turkey bacon today which I can not find in Australia.

I am aware that I can purchase fresh fruit, veg and meat so I am looking at what packaged products you recommend because occasionally I will need convenient snack food in the house!

My goal is to shed some holiday weight as I just spent some time in NYC where I was indulging on bagels, gelato and pasta. Shame on me! but I need satisfying foods that will keep me full and control cravings as much as possible! low calorie ideas please ^_^ Thanks in advance xx

In the frozen section I try to stock up on fish and chicken filets, sweet potato fries (unsalted- to make in the oven), edamame (good for protein)!

Peanut butter/almond butter is a go-to for me.
Wheat english muffins *Thomas brand has a 100 calorie option
Cottage cheese with deli turkey or chicken for a high protein snack/meal
Hummus! (I like mine with sliced bell peppers or celery)
Greek yogurt (add granola or fruit- or both!)
Almond milk is a good low cal substitute for regular milk
Dry frosted mini wheats as a snack. Very satisfying and filling- keeps my appetite under control.

Can't think of anymore right now.. Hope this helps you out a little!
