You Know What Really Grinds My Gears?

Those stupid "motivational posters" that show amputees and disabled people working out with quotes like, "What's your excuse?" I have a close friend who is a double amputee and he is livid whenever he sees these as well. It's already enough of an issue that people with physical handicaps are put down or reduced to the "other" of our culture without needing to use them to guilt trip our able bodied selves into working out. It's basically saying, "Hey, if that disabled person can manage to go to the gym with all of the made up limitations we are stereotyping them with, so can you!" Seriously, it's just poor form and completely unnecessary.

Eh idk, there is a guy who is wheel chair bound and has some form of mental disability (no not 100% which since I don't talk to people at the gym) and he is there at least 4 times a week. Always gets me in a good mind set when I see him try his hardest. Same as seeing that guy who joined last year now weight 100 pounds less. Same as seeing that guy who joined a few months ago set a new PR and see how proud and happy he is.

When other people try hard, it reminds me that I to must try my hardest.
  • Mine is the starving children commercials "What would you do if their was a starving child right in front of you", well, I would feed them.
"For only 50 cents a day, you can save a life", ok, then take the money they are paying you for this ad and donate it back to them, then give me a call.
"Thousands die every day from malnourishment and starvation" , well Sally, it was only "hundreds" when you first started and were 80 pounds lighter, perhaps you should stop stealing their food!

    This.

I don't care how good your syncro's are, a weak clutch or faulty master/slave cylinder will grind gears everytime...

Worse again, the a-hole in the fast lane who is going slower than those in the slow lane and you're trapped behind them... REALLY drives me mad!!!!

I always feel bad when I'm striving to get 4,000+ calories in each day and that commercial comes on. But then I remember I pay extra for the extra channels, so I change it to Cartoon Network. Ah adventure time.

You know what I used to look at those and say Damn. I should do more, then I became a Double bi lateral bellow knee amputee and had to motivate myself, and got inspired by other amputees and told myself I want to do that. SO, No it's not bad form or what ever. It just does not appeal to you.

If you're good, you don't need the clutch.
