How wide are your shoulders....

Was having a conversation about "frame" size. The fingers around wrist thing doesn't work for me because I have small wrists, and long fingers but I have big hands, big feet, broad shoulders and big hips.
Apparently it's complicated to measure.

• Take off your shirt and stand with your back next to a smooth wall.
• Hang your hands in a relaxed manner and touch the sides of your thighs. Do not flare your elbows or widen your lats. (By flaring your elbows you can get another inch or so on the measurement, but you're simply fooling yourself.)
• Have a buddy stand in front, and with a yardstick in his hand, place one end next to your right deltoid and extend it to the front. Have him make a light pencil mark on the wall at the inside edge of the yardstick, which signifies the protrusion of your right shoulder.
• Apply the same procedure, with the yardstick and pencil, on your left deltoid.
• Step away from the wall and measure, with the yardstick or tape measure, the horizontal distance between the two pencil marks.

Huh. So I just tried to do this myself. I got 18 7/8. That's bigger than "average man" according to that article. The average man is 5'10", 172lbs. I'm a woman, 5'9" and 157lbs.0

I'll try this today
Another measurement... won't my husband be thrilled? Lol.

My shoulders are 18.5 inches. I'm not surprised - my shoulder width has always been a problem with finding women's shirts that are wide enough from the edge of the collar to the top of the sleeve.
I'm 5'9 and 137 pounds, but I still have shoulders wider than the average man. Figures! :laugh:0 -
22". I'm 6'70
