QUESTION ABOUT CARBS

I've been on MFP for a while and have had success, thanks to all the support from everyone here. I have a question about carbs.
Lately I've been craving carbs - bread, bagels, cookies, etc. and seem to be hungry a lot more. I don't deprive myself of carbs and do eat whole wheat bread, oatmeal, and good carbs, so I don't understand where these cravings and hunger are coming from. I've been eating enough protein and fat with my meals, so I don't think it's that. I really need to figure out where these carb cravings and hunger are coming from before they get out of hand. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of them? Anyone else having this problem lately?

  • It seems to be specifically sugar you're craving. I think you just have to power through and the cravings will stop eventually. Maybe eat more fruits? Also tea and coffee seem to suppress my appetite when I crave sugary foods.
  • I'm doing South Beach and it says that caffiene can actually increase your urge for carbs. I quit caffeine two days ago in an attempt to lower these cravings and it seems to have worked so far.
