I wouldnt try to balance anything. Take it one day at a time. The whole point is not to eat more than you burn, so you were under yesterday 100, thats fine. by eating 100 extra today that is just putting 100 more into yourself you dont need. just try to get to your goal today and go on. being 100 under occasionally wont hurt you, it only does damage if you continually do it day after day after day.
Good luck to you0 -
I don't think being under by 100 is really that big of a deal. I don't know if I'd balance out one day of calories with another but others might have a different opinion as I've seen threads about 'saving calories for the weekend'. I just view each day separate. I don't think I'd under eat today if I knew I was going out tomorrow so I could over eat, JMHO.0

Calories do not balance out from day to day. Think of your calories one day at a time. There is no such thing as storing calories for later or making up for them when you didn't eat enough. All you can do is do better today. One time of being under probably isn't going to do much, just don't make it habit! Wish you the best!0

Your daily caloric intake is based on having a deficit of 500 calories a day. (assuming a 1 pound a week loss) So if you go over your goal by 100 calories, you still have a 400 calorie deficit. If you had a 400 calorie deficit every day for a week you would have a deficit of 2800 calories which means you would still be losing .8 pound a week. Or for example let's say that you hit your goal exactly six days out of seven and went over your goal by 100 calories on the seventh day. That means you would have a 3400 calorie deficit for the week instead of a 3500 calorie deficit. That equals .97 pounds. See? Just put it into perspective. No single day can sabotage your plan. It's the day and days on end that get you in trouble.
It's important to remember that all of these numbers are just averages and estimates. At best, unless you have access to first class medical equipment your estimates of your metabolism, calories in and calories out are all "best" guesses. You kinda have to fiddle with numbers until you find what works. AND your body does not run on a 24 hour from 12am to 12pm clock. in fact, your body doesn't run on any kind of timed clock. The purpose of tracking daily is to just give you a guide and a reference point. A couple or hundred calories one way or another in a single day is won't have ANY real impact.
So, no it won't matter if you're over a little one day and under a little the next. In fact, there's a lot of anecdotal evidence on this site that there's a lot of good to be gained by cycling your calories. That would have you a little low 3 or 4 days in a row and then have a high calorie day. Many believe this helps keep your metabolism charging.
Depending on how much you drink or how much you've gone over, it might slow your weight loss down for a few days. However, reality is that you're not going to never have another drink. Figure out a way to work it into the plan. I certainly wouldn't do it every day or even every week, but once in a while is not a big deal.0
