Carbs (again sorry)

Ok so I used to be a low carb'er but I am trying to do this realistically and wish to change my lifestyle all together. Naturally I am still very wary of carbs (silly I know) but can someone who is losing weight through good diet and exercise please advise me on what would be too much.

Ideally I am keeping my carb intake to earlier on in the day but if someone could help on a figure or amount to stay under I would be grateful.

If I have my oats in the morning, a chicken salad wrap at lunch and some fruit for snacking I seem to have hit 120g which is more than I like to but will this hinder weight loss?

It is probably too many carbs. I'd say 70-80g carbs and 80-100g protein with little fat and sugars. but its hard to tell when your diary isnt available. I dont know what your goals are set at and what you actually eat. Calories makes a difference too not just carbs.

I eat anything up to 200g of carbs and my weight loss hasn't been affected. It's all about personal choice and what works for you.

I've lost 56lbs and am only 4lbs from my goal weight now...I'm still losing 1lb per week & I eat about 1600 calories most days with one cheat day on weekends, working out about 30 minutes to 1 hour five days per week.

I adore carbs and have learned that GOOD carbs are key to my weightloss due to all the fibre!

I eat between 150-220g of carbs on an average day, and they come from fruit, veggies, rice, wholegrain pasta, potatoes, legumes, dark chocolate, quinoa, wholegrain bread etc etc.

I have lost all my weight without monitoring carbs too much. The only monitoring and reason I've cut down is because they are quite calorie dense and I can replace it with veggie to make me feel fuller for longer.

I checked my diary and I consistently eat between 200g and 300g a day and my weight loss is going strong...

My calories are around 1200-1300, I get a good amount of protein but carbs and sugar (from fruit) is high.

Thanks for you answers, maybe I will cut out the wraps and find an alternative.

I have opened up my diary I have just returned so ignore previous entries, this is what I will eat today plus maybe another snack.

Any advice on the sugar? I love fruit and want to include it daily

CERTAINLY include fruit every day and do what most people do on here and set your diary to NOT track sugar, as if it is coming from fruit you're getting lots of vitimans and fibre and it doesn't affect the body in the same way as processed sugars. I eat SO much fruit haha! Love it!

The only thing I would suggest would be to have a wholegrain wrap or a pitta bread in place of the white wrap, it will fill you up more and is a better carb. Look for breads with less than five ingredients on the label...the least processed, the better!

I was just about to say similar about the fruit. But if you're worried about sugar I'd maybe ditch the dried fruits as I think they might be higher in sugar than fresh.

I'd also say try nice wholegrain seeded bread rather than wraps. It's more substanstial and tastes good. I'd rather eat less of what I really like than more of something that's a bit "meh"! Right now I'm not paying much attentiont to my macros at all, so I haven't banished anything from my diet but am just trying to cut back on everything and really mix it up so I don't get bored.

But really your diary looks pretty good.

i find it is sugar that is my downfall! so i am trying to track that rather than carbs as a whole.
I am going to try to avoid processed and artificial sugars and see how i get on. but defiantly avoid simple 'white' carbs and go for complex carbs.
if you are trying to up protein try swapping your chicken wrap for a lettuce wrap with extra chicken ( use lettuce and ore thinly sliced (non processed) meat instead of the wrap.

I shoot for a ratio of 40% carbs, 30% protein, and 30% fats. Carbs are fuel. I could not run long distances or exercise well without them. The key is good complex carbs, not crappy simple carbs.

Thanks everyone, I think I will ditch dried fruits and change the wraps for something wholegrain. I usually buy the wholegrain wraps but they all tear apart which wastes so much food lol, we don't seem to have as much variety here and bread slices are not so convenient for work. I shall go on the hunt for a happy medium :)
