For When It All Seems Too Blimmin' Hard...

Hello peeps.

I know, I know. Another before and after from that Moglet bird. But I keep discovering old 'before' shots and to be honest, want to use them as motivation not to slip into old habits.

But also, when I was at my biggest, people's success stories made me feel two things. One, a little bit of envy. They'd achieved what I wanted. Two, oh WOW. That could actually happen to me too, if it could happen to them. That cancelled out Emotion Number One. Emotion Number Three - Get Off Your Behind And Do Something About It. (Usually) Emotion Number Four - eeeh, can't be bothered.

DON'T FEEL EMOTION NUMBER FOUR.

16 stone (224lb) to just over 10 stone (140lb).

How tall are you? Thats awesome! I started just under what you did and I just want to get to 165 or so. At least, that is my goal right now. I will re-*kitten* when I get there.

    Fantabulous. You look amazing. :)

18 months, eh? I started at over 17st, and am 3 months in. I've hit the "OH WHAT IS THE GORRAM POINT?" wall as I am massively impatient. It helps to know I have to stick at it, that it takes *everyone* a lot of time to undo years of abuse. Thank you. x

[CAVEAT: In the unlikely event that I'm still feeling the same in 18 months, I am totally suing you. ;o)]

Thank you! I enjoy seeing these and actually come here everyday to read these success stories to keep myself grounded. I like that you include it took you 18 months. I am 4 months in, lost 41 pounds, and there are days you feel like you won't get there. But you prove you will. Hundreds of people are doing it everyday, so why not me right!

    Thanks! Love your enthusiam!

I know the feeling. I remember sweating my behind off on the crosstrainer, denying myself yet ANOTHER Greggs cheese and onion pastie, and not losing approximately a stone a week.

Unfortunately, slow and steady does win the race - no two ways about it. I just kept my head down and told myself that, one day, it would all be worth it. And like you say, it takes a long time to put the weight on - so it takes a long time to come off.

Slow and steady will also help minimise loose skin - I've still got a bit of a bellypooch, but all things considered there's not too much damage.

Don't give up. It is never, ever worth it. I remember someone saying to me "restraint weighs ounces. Regret weighs tons" and me utilising it as my mantra - not just when it came to diet, but in terms of hauling my bum to the gym once again.

Thank you all, as always, for such lovely responses. If these kind of posts are in any way helpful to just one person, then I'm happy.
