Hey, just looking for friends around the same weight (or not, I'm not picky)... haha. I have an open diary. I started at 325. My current goal is to be 210 by April or May of 2013. Ultimately, I think I want to get down to somewhere around 170-190, depending on how toned I get. I don't want to be skinny-skinny, just not a blob anymore. Haha.

Welcome to MFP! I've been in your shoes and it took me a while but I am now down to 208. I started mfp when I was 240 and diagnosed with type 2 but I know that you can do this. I believe in you. You can add me and we can be accountable to each other.
Just remember that all it takes is one step. The steps will sometimes be hard but we can do this together.

I've been up to 250 and went down to 164 in about 10 months. Exercise is great but it's all about what you eat. I ate small meals .....maybe to small.0

Welcome! This is a great site. I am 34 and started out at 332 pounds. I am down to 216 right now and looking to get to 175. Break it down into smaller goals rather than focusing on the big picture. It takes work, but is so worth it. Add me if you would like.0

I suspect that like me you don't want to over commit to a weight and feel like a failure for being outside of some target weight. The number one thing for me are my other number changes... Blood glucose 93, no meds was 108... Blood pressure 123/82, no meds was 138/94... Resting pulse rate was 86 now 68... Weight was 425 now 337.5 since starting in July. Be honest and over estimate the size of the serving. I'd rather say two servings than 1 1/2 servings and be wrong and actually have consumed more than what I estimated than to say 1 1/2 for what was actually 2 servings. You can succeed if you are honest about tracking and consider this a change of lifestyle instead of a diet.0

I try eating 6 meals a day, anywhere from 1200-1800 calories, depending on how much I excersise that day. I've heard small meals are better for your metabolism, as long as you space them correctly. No?0 -

Not so much that I don't want to commit. I think that you can't really pin down a number, when you get there, you just know. I've always liked the fuller look on a woman, and I don't think I'd be happy being skinny-skinny. Who knows, maybe when I get to 190, I'll say that's enough. I know it's not BMI good, but it's about how I feel. At 325, I felt like a whale, mostly because my weight is mostly in my tummy. And, seriously---CONGRATULATIONS on that loss! That's awesome!0 -

Yes, very hard sometimes. But, I think that as long as we keep going, we'll be just fine. Hehe.0 -

Congrats on the 116 loss! I have a blog (on another site) and I break them down to 1-2 monthly goals. My next goal is to be 255 before Thanksgiving. It really IS easier breaking it down. When I first started, it felt so daunting knowing I'd have to lose over 100 pounds. But, keeping it at 10-20 pounds goals is much more gratifying!0 -
It's all about short term goals and once you reach them if feels so good you keep going.
Good Luck!0 -
I would love to be friends with you! I am just starting back with MFP, current wt is 259lbs. My goal is 175lbs. I've been feeling really down about my weight for awhile, but have finally committed to changing my behavior rather than accepting that I will always be obese! Hope we can support each other to reach our goals!0
