80% what you eat

I was meeting with a 24-hour Fitness Trainer this morning and what he said hit me like a rock:
Loosing weight is 80% what you eat. 20% what you burn.
Ah-hah moment for me. Maybe it will be for some of you, too.
This is why counting calories, etc. is sooooo important. (Especially for those of us who have no portion control (like me) or who wouldn't hestitate to throw in that piece of sandwich your kid didn't eat, as well as their pretzels and a few pieces of chocolate to wash it all down. It's just a little bit . . . right?)
Cheers to 24 Fitness and to MyFitnessPal.com. Between both companies, you've given me the opportunity to take control.
