Question for the Nutritionists

If I were to dump some protein powder into a cup of coffee, would this negate the effects of the protein? What does heat or caffeine do to the whey protein powder? What about a cold coffee? Is there any kind of chemical breakdown that happens?

I've read that vitamin C can't be absorbed if it's exposed to heat, so no putting it in my tea.

Shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't put the powder into boiling water though, you'll get lumps. Instead, mix a little bit of the powder with cold water, then add the coffee on top. I do this all the time to make a coffee flavoured protein shake. Some people freeze protein powder to make dessert:

    Have fun!

I brew my coffee at night, and the dump my protein powder and a frozen banana in the morning. Really similar to frozen coffee drinks from coffee shops.

Nope, you're good to go, some people even bake with whey.

And protein powder with coffee is delicious.
