I admire that. I've never smoked myself but I know that once you're hooked it can be almost as difficult to give up as eating excessively! I hope you achieve both of these goals and are so proud of yourself when you do it! And doing this for health reasons is a much better reason to do it than for feeling like you need to lose weight because of what you think people think of you.

    GO GO GO! :)

When I quit smoking in August 2011, I gave myself about a week to focus on that and not worry about my diet & exercise. After that little grace period, I started tracking my food and working out again, and I started losing weight again. It is definitely possible to do both.

I quit smoking in January because I couldn't do any cardio exercise for very long without feeling like I was going to DIE!! I just got tired of it. One thing that helped is that I moved during that time and didn't associate smoking with my new apartment. It's all about associations.
