When i look at something in the shops these days i tend to look for the calories in the product first and not worry too much about anything else. Should i be taking note of the FAT content in food or is just presuming a low calorific value is going to give me a low fat content as well as the two would go hand in hand ????

Can i have a high calorie food as long as it has little or no FAT in it ???

Advice or comments !!!!

Gavin

Depends what you're hoping to achieve really. The calorie value is significantly more important, but if you're looking to get in keto or something then the higher fat the better. If you're always going for low fat foods it's very easy to eat nowhere near enough (I aim to get 50-60g of fat a day but quite often get to the end of the day having not even reached 20 and being well short of overall targets so I just get a jar of pesto and a spoon).

It really depends on what kind of lifestyle you want to live. You can lose weight off the twinkie diet (so bad for you). I am at a stage where I eat very little processed food (mostly cereal and bread, everything else is scratch). I eventually want to go organic and make all my food from scratch at home. I dont have a problem with fat but it does contain 9cal/gram instead of just 4 that carbs have. I eat avocados, nuts and seeds in moderation. They are all very high in fat but also full of nutrients. :drinker:

If I had extra fat calories that I felt I needed to eat, I would probably go for some peanutbutter, nuts, or seeds.
