Why do I want to eat more icecream now then I did before?

Before I started working out, I did not really eat much, most days I would eat a meal a day, maybe two.
But now that I started working out, I get hungry!! And I eat and I eat, but I still want icecream and chocolate sauce, even sometimes chips, and I never really wanted chips before..

Does anybody have an explanation for this?

  • Did you take those out of your diet? Depriving yourself of foods you like can do that to you. How about you fit it into your calories and macros once in a while instead? It's perfectly fine to do so.

You probably aren't fueling your body enough, so you crave more food!

I get what you mean. I never had cakes before, and now when I'm allowed a treat I think of the worst cake from the bakery that I can think of, The better I do during the week then the worse the cake, I've stopped this now though ahah
  • I wouldn't say my answer is 100% true for everyone at every time, but I suspect cravings most of the time come from two places. At least I feel they are in my case:

    1. I haven't drunk enough water, because my cravings seem reduced when I have an immediate 8-16 ounces.

    2. Your body is telling you it needs some nutrient and it can be found in what your craving, but maybe in a healthier food item as well.

or 3. chips and ice cream are super yummy and why wouldn't you want to eat more of them?

eat more to crave less. you need to fuel your body more. one, maybe two meals a day isn't enough for the exercise and living. so you are craving stuff (sweets) your body can then turn in to immediate energy. up your protein.

    good luck.
