30DS whilst pregnant?

Hey all,

The OH and I are trying for our first child. I have recently finished level 1 of the 30DS and just started level 2.
I'm currently in the two week waiting bit of my cycle to find out whether im pregnant or not.
My question is, is it safe to carry on with the 30DS if I think i might be pregnant or when I find out that i am pregnant?

    I would continue. I was doing strenous army activities before I found out I was pregnant and I had a healthy baby!

    General rule is if you were doing it before you were pregnant then carry on. Babies don't just fall out because you moved around. Women run marathons pregnant! If you sit around for 9 months doing nothing you'll be back here next year saying you need to lose that 100 lbs of baby weight.

    Im not worried about it falling out lol, just dont want to do more harm that good.
    I might not even be pregnant this month yet, ive got to wait another 6 days until I can test.
    I did try emailing the makers of the 30DS directly but they couldnt help me and just say to ask my GP, not that my GP would even know what the 30DS is anyway!

    You should be fine to continue, but if you're worried, then cut back on the jumping around (just don't jump quite as vigorously).

    It's great to see a mom staying fit and active during her pregnancy!

    i was doing heavy weights and tons of elliptical for the first 3-4 months of my last pregnancy...the only reason i had to stop was because i had horrible horrible acid reflux.

    If you did it before you got pregnant, then continue. I asked my doc and that's what I was told and I was high risk. I was playing tennis before I was pregnant and played all the way to my 8th month. I had to quit then, it got too hot for me and I was afraid I'd lose my balance and fall.

    My doctor suggested keeping my hr lower than the 180 I would normally go into while exercising, nor crunches, and not to exceed my already active schedule. Basically, bring it down, do planks, and don't add on.

    you might not even be pregnant so why stop? It's not going to hurt anything, just be careful with how much weight you're lifting.

    I think you'd be perfectly ok doing it, however if you're worried, why not go to the doctors office now and find out if you are or not. And if you are, then first: Congrats, second: ask the doctor if the 30DS would be ok to continue while pregnant :)

    If you haven't already, the best course of action is to call your ob/gyn and talk it over... If you are trying to get pregnant you should be very careful with your diet to ensure that you are getting enough B12/Folate--and possibly start taking neonatal vitamins. Usually the ob/gyn won't want to see you until you are a couple weeks pregnant for certain, but a lot can happen in the meantime, so make sure that you're only the right page, that you're eating what you are supposed to, not taking any medications that you shouldn't, and not overdoing it exercise-wise.

    My own doctor was a pretty big advocate of "if you were doing it before you were pregnant, there's no reason you should stop now". Unless, of course, your exercise regimen includes taking punches to the stomach. Mine was even o.k. with snow-skiing--I was in my first trimester over the winter and at that point the baby is pretty small and protected by the pelvis so falling wasn't a concern.

    My kickboxing instructor looks like she's about to pop. There's no contact - it's more a shadowboxing-esque version of kickboxing, but strenuous nonetheless. But really, it's your doctor you should discuss this with. Yeah, everyone has their opinions, but if something WERE to happen, you would want to have known the risks ahead of time and that's something a bunch of strangers can't really tell you.

    I try to continue my regular work out schedule throughout my 2ww, I've been trying for nearly 5 years and think it's most of the reason I've gained so much weight. So for now I refuse to put my life on hold for ever 2ww ever again :smile:

    I would say continue. I had two miscarrages and when I finally got pregnant with our son, I was afraid to do anything. I gained way to much weight and had a difficult labor, partially due to the fact I was nervous to even walk more than a mile. The only thing I have really heard was to not do the crunches.

    And just so you know, my miscarriages were due to a hormonal imbalances that was easily fixed, not due to exercising.
