Hurt my leg-should I get it checked out?

So, yesterday I went to a concert in Boston (RUSH!). They were awesome! But, I really messed up my calf dodging a Boston cabbie! I felt a pop and now I can barely walk on it. I can stand, I can pull my leg forward, but I cant walk a full stride with my leg going behind me. (if that makes any sense) so I can take baby steps. It hurts on the lower calf, medially. I don't feel any deformity. It is sore to touch, but walking is torture. Should I get it checked out? Is it just a muscle strain that will heal in a few days? This stinks!

If you can afford it and have the time, then yes, go see your doctor. If not, give it a few days and see if things improve. If the worsen, then of course see the doctor. In the meantime, give your calf rest and try to ice it a few times a day.

Yes! Get it checked. It could very well be just a muscle strain, but if it's something else, and you leave it, it may prolong your recovery process. When it doubt, get it checked out

    Hope it heals up soon!

I'd give it just a day or two, RICE it (rest, ice, compression, elevation), and see if it improves. If not, get it checked.

Possibly. Google for "tennis leg" and see if that sounds like what you have.

Ice and elevation for the first 24 is always a good rule of thumb if you have the ability to do that.

I called my Dr. and they had a cancellation so I am going to see her today. I'm sure it's nothing serious, but better to get it checked out on my day off! Thanks for the advice guys.

And, Castlerobber, I looked up 'tennis leg' and it sounds exactly like what I have!
