Help! Going out for a pub dinner tonight (UK)

I am going out for a pub dinner tonight, where from what I can make out the food is freshly made (no microwave meals) and am not really sure what is on the menu, so cannot plan ahead what to eat.

I have about 800 cals left for the day as I had a work out earlier.

Does anybody have any ideas on what I can eat tonight without blowing my cals?
Thanks
xx

DON'T go with a salad! Unless you get everything on the side and add in only about 1/2 of it! Some salads can come in at over 1000 calories!:noway: Craziness. Get what sounds good, but immediately put 1/2 of it in a to go box. That should help. Good luck on your decision! Let us know how it goes!:drinker:

If they have fresh fish, order it! Grilled!
Avoid fried anything! If they just have burgers, eat just the meat, skip the fries!
If you are forced to order something toxic, only eat a small portion of it!
Steak is also a good option, eat the steak first and avoid the sides!
  • Good points both of you thank you! Steak sound good, may have a look to see how many points it is! I am always sooo tempted with the pasta dishes, I am sure their will be plenty! FIngers crossed for the fish then! xx

I did that last night - I had the grilled steak salad, picked off a lot of the extras and used balsamic vinigar for dressing....it was delicious! I even indulged in two glasses of cab - my fav red wine. I knew I was going out so I was extremely conservative on my breakfast & lunch. I worked out that morning extra too so I was able to indulge....it was great!
  • I was a bit naughty and had fish and chips! It was home made so I'm figuring it wasn't a bad choice for how many calories I had left! It was damned good though and I'm glad I splurged a bit! Otherwise I know I will get bored and eat crap! Am having a fish adn chip supper this week too as we have parents evening till late and I wont want to get home then cook.

Have decided not to feel guilty about it though! Thanks for the suggestions though!

    xx
