Black Raspberry Protein Shake
Given that my focus has almost singlehandedly focused to running / cycling, I don't really lift weights anymore. I will start lifting again the winter, but I wanted to share a recipe I had from the past...
Depending on the workout and if I was using the item as a MRP (meal replacement) or supplement to an actual meal, I would adjust the quantities accordingly.
I use MuscleTech's Chocolate Whey Protein. I had so many issues with others having additives that would keep me up late at night and compromise my sleeping pattern.
So, I would get the following:
MuscleTech Chocolate Whey Protien (You can get it the VitaminShoppe, GNC, or a number of online retailers)
Bolthouse Farms Berry Boost (Available at your local supermarket) - http://bolthouse.com/our-products/beverages/smoothies
1% Milk (or you can use skim)
Crushed Ice
....And Blend.
If you're looking for MRP - I would suggest upping to 2 scoops (40-50 g. of protein), otherwise, one is fine. I would typically use about 4-5 oz. of the berry boost and 6-8 oz. of milk.
