Constantly Thinking About Loosing/Getting Fit

Ok,

So I am newly on the weight loss trail, again, this is my second consistent week and my next weigh in is tomorrow. I have lost 1.4lbs so far, which I personally felt was really good for my first week, and obviously hoping to match or pass that over this last week. So, it is early days and I am only just getting into my routine, new eating patterns, etc.

That being said though, does anyone else find it sometimes gets a bit, just, too much, to CONSTANTLY be thinking about your weight, your fitness, your food, calories, etc etc etc etc.

I am guessing once I get things under control and start making some serious progress it will take a less prominent place in my life and focus, but right now, it's not that I don't have anything else going on in my life, but I would definitely rate my drive to get fit and healthy as one of the top three things I think about, talk about, and plan for in my life. I have even made an appt with my Dr to get my blood tested so I can actually find out what I may be deficient in, etc, bc if I am going to do this again, I want to do it all the way.

Does anyone else find that in the early stages, this is how it has been for you? I guess it is better than obsessing over NOT being fit and feeling ****ty over that, so if I had to choose between the two, it would be this one! :-)

I just constantly think about how many calories I can eat.. I love food, so having he ability to eat 2600 calories a day and still cut fat is great. Although, my wife is not so much of a fan because I point out how unhealthy some foods are.

I won't lie, I dangle my calories in front of me like a carrot.

"If you can finish this mile that will be one bowl of ice cream this weekend. GO GO GO! GET THAT SUGARY BOWL OF GOODNESS."

Whatever works right? Anything is better than nothing.

i don't think about it. it becomes habit to log it and to do my cardio exercise (weather permitting - it's snowy and cold today). i do pre-plan/pre-log my meals for at least a week in advance. that way i know when i look in the morning exactly what's on the menu for the day, so i never have to think about what i want to eat. i don't know if that would help you, but you could try that. as i eat during the day, i "check off" the meals. i allow myself to make change though. if i have 1 banana budgeted for the day and end up eating 2, i just go and add the 2nd banana to my log (for example).
