Hello.
I joined the site a few days ago. I started my second weight lost journey at the beginning of October. Back in 2008 I lost 41lbs going from a size 18 to a 9/10. Then I let life happened and gained it again plus 7 extra to my max weight of 198 lbs.
I'm disabled and live with my mother. I can't exercise the way most people do. The first weight loss adventure I started walking 1.4 miles each day after I lost the first 30 pounds. But I can't stand long enough to do that now. The arthritis in my ankles and hips are too bad. So I go to the pool at the ymca and do the water aerobics there. I can honestly say I get disappointed when can't make it.
I don't have a problem with motivation. I have figured out what works for me and I've lost 10.8 pounds thus far. But I am open to making new friends and helping other people. If I, who exist in constant daily pain, If I who is put in pain from exercising, can exercise and loose weight, You can to.
Not being overweight is not about what you look like. It's not about heart disease or diabetes (those they are important considerations). Be concerned about your joints. Being over weight changes the shape of your bones and breaks down your joints. Many older people that I exercise with now have or need joint replacements.
Looking forward to knowing you
