First of all my family and I live in a home with limited storage in the kitchen, and anyone who has every had that sort of problem knows how challenging it is to fit everything in a drawer or cupboard. I have two kiddos (4 and 18 months) are are ornery and adorable and also challenging.
Recently my 18 month old drank a significant amount of Imodium AD and we had to spend an afternoon in the ER. Scary but thankfully the active ingredient in the medication didn't do any damage. As a result we purchased cabinet locks for the cabinets that the meds and cleaning supplies are kept. It's not as if we keep seriously dangerous cleaning supplies out.. and this was the first time I had ever had this happen. I learned from it and moved on.
Well yesterday my children (God love them) decided to get into my wilton supplies (note we are talking about food coloring, a plastic icing spreader, and a few frosting bags plus they are on a SHELF) and decided to eat my green food coloring. I thought it was funny albeit annoying so I punished them and put the food coloring in a different place.
I joked around about the color of my children to my Grandfather today and he all but straight out accused me of being a bad mother who needed to "work some things out". Surely I am not the only Mom who deals with kids who get into things... surely I am not the only Mom who just so happens to have two similar events happen within weeks of each other.
Just frustrating.
On a plus side I did get a good run in today That is always nice. I enjoy running in cooler weather much more than warmer.
