Has anyone ever tried using Rosetta Stone before? If so, how did you like it? Did it work well for you? I know this isn't exactly a "health" related question but none of my friends on facebook have ever tried it and I didn't know who else to ask

i never used it but I learnt conversational cantonese from pimsleur and a cantonese girl. waking up next someone who speaks it works wonders.
what are you trying to learn?0 -
Is it a book? A DVD? An online course? For which language(s)?0

If you want to get a free head start on vocab try www.memrise.com . I'm learning Korean, Japanese, and Spanish on it. Once you get a good vocab base its easier to learn sentence structure.0

I learned it to speak French. It's a pretty good program. I speak Spanish much better only because I use it daily.0

I learned alot of German from hanging around the amish. They would talk crap about you to your face but in German. I began to pick up on it and than would return the favor. You should have seen the looks on their faces. PRICELESS!0

I want to use it to learn to speak more spanish. I work as a bartender in a mexican restaurant and i have picked up a good amount of the language but i want to increase my vocabulary and learn sentence structure so i can become fluent and go out to the spanish clubs with my latino friends0

Yes I think it would've worked better if I was more consistent with it and stuck with one language at a ttime. I was trying to learn 2.... very difficult0

I want to get that n see. Right now I know a bunch of little phrases in like 4 languages other than english. " Ichi beeru, kudosai!" ( one beer please - japanese) "Gem formage" ( I like cheese) Beard! ( ****) both french. Then I can read Mandarin a little from north china. I can write chicken and lemon. Say a few words like nuo ( beef) su lao dai ( plastic bag) sheh sheh ( pronounced shh- eh, shh eh) it means thankyou- but a more gracious thank you. Shrey ( water) and a few others I know a little spanish. Enough to take an order ( food order) but I can understand more than I speak. I speak very very basic spanish. ( proper spanish not mexican street spanish lol- I would get laughed at) But Id really love to learn another language or two. Preferably mandarin, spanish, and japanese. I hear japanese is an easier language than mandarin as far as annunciation goes.0
