Why don't they just say if it's dry or cooked? Couscous help

I don't even want to think about the minutes historically wasted figuring this out for pasta, etc. Mostly pasta.

PC's Whole Wheat Couscous, 1/4 cup, is 140 calories on the box. I ate 1/4 cup of cooked PC Whole Wheat Couscous. Did I eat 140 calories?

That's 140 calories for 1/4 dry (uncooked) couscous. I'm pretty sure that all pasta nutrition labels assume uncooked.

You have just spared at least two weeks of my life. Thank you.

(I do think, though, that pasta-makers should accommodate the confused. I can't be the only one!)

Because people like you continue to buy products with poor quality nutrition labels, they will continue to produce them.

I've wondered the same thing...what I do is measure the amount of uncooked couscous..and just eat whatever it turns into. I do the same thing with rice.

    Ok then, people.

The simplest solution to both your problem and the problem many others have with similar products is for people to demand better quality packaging. Company awareness will cost them nothing.

I assume uncooked. Unless it's from Asda, who use cooked weights to make everything appear to have a third of the calories it actually has, and to mess with my head.
