It makes me so hungry :(

I sprained my ankle yesterday hiking, then had to walk on it for like a mile and something to get back to the car. It hurt pretty bad, I went and got it checked out and they gave me Vicodin. I took it last night and OMFG I was ravenous! I wasn't even hungry before I took it!

Yep! That's a common side effect of Vicodin. Drugs screw with your body... deal with it. :P
  • My best advice is to take it as minimally as possible. I never liked how it made me feel, so I always sucked up the pain even when they prescribed it, but if you do need to take it keep only healthy snacks around. Stuff your face with fruits and veggies instead of starches like you probably really want. Also filly your belly with hot tea with cinnamon and lemon, which may help curb your hunger.

Surround yourself with vegetables that are already washed and cut into pieces, nuts, water, chewing gum, healthy crackers. Pack a lot of snacks.
If it's ready to eat, you'll be less likely to binge on crappy stuff. :)

Vegetables is a good idea. They have a bunch of fiber to make you feel full and less calories. Also majority of calories comes from fiber and human body can't brake fiber down anyways. I personally never count calories in veggies. Also drink a lot of water...

    Agree with this.

Don't take it unless you absolutely need it.

Try to keep health snacks in the house and get rid of any trigger or junk foods.
