Focus on Can........

I have not had a regular exercise program since just before Christmas. I know this is the key to maintaining my weight, but just have not done it. Period-no excuse.
The decision was made yesterday morning that I would "Eat better and exercise more to get healthy, and if I lose some weight along the way..............then BONUS!!!"
I started to think of what I can not do. Oooohhh.........I CAN'T start back at d2w3 of c25k....I may not even be able to do d1w1...........but put on my gear and headed out the door.
As I got to the end of my street, where I always click on the running program....it dawned on me that only I am standing in my way. I got HERE from doing what I CAN..............hmmmmmmmmmmmmm great advice, wonder where I heard THAT before??
So I put on the program, and pumped up the music and started to walk. I followed the program for 3 intervals and then felt like I needed to sit............not stop...............sit!! Instead I walked with my HR at 140....pushed..........faster and faster........and broke thru the wall.............I skipped the last 3 running intervals......but wait, skip is the wrong word. I USED them to increase my walking speed and HR.
In the end doing what I CAN led to 45 minutes of cardio and 300 calories burned!! WOOT!.
So now I am sitting down to begin my new program. Back to CAN DO!
What can I do?
What do I want to achieve?
How can I meet my goals?
Take the time to write down some goals today and see what YOU CAN do!!
My answers:
What can I do? I can walk very fast and do some push ups and lots of other exercises. I can breath and eat well. I can rest and drink water~
What do I want to achieve? I want to achieve 1 mile straight running. I want to eat better. I want to exercise each day for a minimum of 20 minutes.
How can I meet my goals? I can work the c25k program to my advantage. I can choose better foods and buy the stuff I need at the market so I am not tempted by foods that do not nourish my body. I can exercise each evening for 20 mintutes.
I CAN!!!!!!!!!!!

You go Jeannie! Good for you to break the no exercise slump. I'd been in it quite a while myself, before coming back to all my MFP friends. You caught the slump before it made friends with the bad food slump, and the I don't really care slump.0

Again is a good word for today! Are you referring to MFP or C25K?
Either way GOOD LUCK!!
