Pretty much the worst day every

Ok so first off no one died. Thats about the only positive thing that happened yesterday.
My sister was off from work yesterday, she was home having her girlie time ( watching sisterhood of the traveling pants and painting her nails) when someone knocks on the door. IT a lady with a list from the bank of houses going up for Auction Today (friday) due to foreclosure. The lady wanted to look around the house. Now I've been paying rent for a year and it turns out my landlord wasnt paying the bank. 2 other people also showed up requesting to look at the house. Needless to say my landlord is not returning any of my phone calls at this time.:mad: :grumble: Then as if that isnt bad enough we had hurricane whatever her name is pass near us yesterday so it did not stop raining all damned day. I'm driving home from work and my car just stops and shuts itself off. I was at a stop sign making a turn so I pushed (and steered) the car into someones lawn (thanks workout time :bigsmile: ) by the time I got it on the lawn I had started to resemble a drowned rat. OF course the minute I get it onto the lawn several cars came by and some young guys jumped out (hope for the younger generation see) and offered to help me. So I get a jump from one of them and go one my merry way. 2 blocks from my house my drives side door starts smoking and flames start flickering in the window/door switch box. The car shuts off so I steer it into someones yard bang on his door and get him to lend me his fire extinguisher and put out the door fire. I popped the switch out with a flat head and disconnected it from the car. Then I finally got home. My day felt like a bad country song ......:grumble:

You need to look up renter's rights regarding foreclosures. I work with foreclosure auctions and the state I live in has law to protect tenants. Here, the tenant HAS to be notified on every step of the foreclosure process by the mortgage company (plaintiff).

OMG. . That is a horrible day!. . However, I think you might have some legal protection as far as your living arrangements. . There are a lot of laws that protect people in your situation. . i.e. .I don't think the bank can just kick you out without any notice. . You should have 30 days or something to find a new place.

I have actually heard about people "buying" houses from individuals and making payments and improvements only to find out the person wasn't paying the bank. You may have to sue your landlord to get any deposits back. I wouldn't let anyone in to look around. I would try to find out how much time I will have before I would have to vacate. It differs in states. The police office may have the answer to this question. Good luck.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Everthing happens for a reason not sure what the reasoning can be. One good thing... u didn't get hurt or locked in the car. Not sure what your religous back ground is but God certainly put angels in your path... The guy who gave u the jump and the man who lent u the phone.

I hope you saved ur rent receipts... the house can go for sale but they can't put ur out without time to look for something else. Have a blessed day. N may things pick up.
