Mandoline/Mandolin on a budget, any suggestions?

I'm looking to purchase a mandolin(e) to make it a little easier to have healthier snacks and food in general (stirfrys, etc.). My cutting skills are awful, and frankly, I'd like to make homemade potato/zucchini chips and for pickling too.

I'm a beginner, so something that's easy to use is best. I'm willing to get a kevlar glove if need be, but decent safety would be nice. Dishwasher safe would also be preferred, but I realize for the budget I've got, that's not maybe possible. It's not a dealbreaker, let me put it that way.

I hear the V-blades are excellent, and I was looking into the OXO brand. But I'd like to keep my options open and see what else is out there.

I'm on a budget of up to $50. Is there a particular brand that you recommend that works well for you?
