Hi everyone,
I'm on 1200 cals a day and I've been doing quite well - going just a bit under most of the time but have lost NO weight. I've been at this for almost 3 weeks now but the scales don't budge. I don't exercise just altered my daily diet. I feel as if I'm losing weight; I didn't take measurements unfortunately so I don't know if I really have lost inches but the scale certainly doesnt seem to think so. Anybody else go through this? Any advice.....?

Bumping to get you help my friend
Personally I'm going to have to roll out the old adage...you are eating too little. The weight you feel you've lost is probably water weight - sorry.
Your diet needs a bit of an overhaul, I've looked at the last 4/5 days and it's not as good as it could be. You are also going under 1200 a lot, that's not good babe. Eating at and below 1200 and not exercising will just mean that your metabolism will slow down to match and you'll just maintain.
I'm no scientist but, from my own experience you need to reassure your metabolism that it's ok to burn and it's ok to lose weight. Otherwise it'll just settle slower and keep the status quo. That means eating regularly and well.
I know you have a one year old so if you are a bit concerned about exercising I would strongly recommend Davina McCalls dvd Pre and Post natal workout. After my babies I did the post workout and found it was gentle enough for the post pregnancy time.
Hopefully you will get more people in the know posting and get some ideas. xx0 -
I know wanting to lose weight and it not happening is frustrating.
Here is what I know.
I went back into start Oct in your journal and there were several days where you were not eating the 1200. this is not going to work, (likely you have provide this)
I started Aug 1,2012 I weighed 222 12 weeks later I weighed 199.
So I suggest you check out eating more. I started off eating 1200 each and every day. Working out very hard and not eating back I loss about 15 lbs in 6 weeks then hit a walk. did not lose for say 2 weeks reached out to mfp and did a lot of reading and decided I need to eat more to lose. It was tough on me mentally to get my head around it but I did and I started dropping again. Right now I aim for 1440 a day, if I have worked out heavy like 50 mins or more hard then I make sure to eat extra 250 (protein shake).
I workout and push myself as hard as I can and then more at least 5 days a week, plus walks.
I am not sure about all that you are doing but I know one thing eat more.
Keep in mind I don to know your weight ect. feel friend to send me a message with more details. You need to go to a site and double check your TDEE and BMR and make sure your calories is set right. Yes you need to start exercising even walking 3-5 a week say 20 mins if you can not fit more in it does help. BUT really we need your weight ect to help.0 -
Hi SJiqbal. I've managed to trim down quite a lot but you have to combine an exercise regime with controlling what you eat. I started on 1650 a day but with exercise my net for the first 4-5 weeks was under 1000. It's ok to eat more as long as you can put in the appropriate level of exercise. I'm currently on 1500 a day and still losing weight even though its at a slower pace. Try to find time to exercise 15-30 mins a day even if its a quick jog around the block or a very brisk walk. For me personally cycling works. I started at 3-4 miles 4-5 times a week. Now I'm on 50-75 miles per week. Find what suits your lifestyle though otherwise you will struggle to maintain the exercise regime.
As of hitting a wall I know that feeling too. But I overcame that by varying my exercises. Combination of cycling, football, rowing and plain and simple walking.
Keep up the good work and you'll soon be in those size 8 dresses.0
