I try to go low when I squat, but sometimes I feel it n my lower back. That can't b normal. What am I doin wrong? Is goin too low makin me lose my form?
Also my knees sound like rice crispies popping so much, but they don't hurt.

Shoot a vid of a few reps, upload it to YouTube, repost it here. Should be easy enough to have someone in your gym shoot a quick cell phone vid.
Then, your chances of accurate feedback go up.0 -
It means you're not keeping your back straight and you're not engaging your core. One of the core's main functions in the body is to stabilize and support the back to keep the spine from being overloaded as in these exact applications0

Some flexible people, usually women, can hyperextend their lower back at the bottom of the squat. Not rounding the back but the other way, so to speak. Here's a vid, of a guy as it happens, who has this issue:

This may be an issue for you. I agree, have yourself filmed to see if this is an issue.0 -
Might I suggest this excellent video and guide to performing the exercise in question m'lady? Huzzah!

That's not a bad video. I don't like how it shoes to move forward from the rack, meaning you'll have to back into the rack to reset the bar. That's dangerous. It's definitely better to unrack and take a short waddle step back just far enough to clear the upright.
Is it just me or she not getting parallel?
I still haven't seen a video series that's better than "So You Think You Can Squat" on YouTube. The EliteFTS team are some of the best in the business; I highly recommend it.0 -
yeah, she seems slightly above parallel.0
