Not sure why people start a profile on here when they only need to lose 5 lbs ?

It's called "myfitnesspal" not "myweightlosspal" to be quite honest. People are here who are maintaining as well and just want to track their nutrient levels, and more power to them I say0

Is there a weight loss limit here? Sometimes people need to lose 5 lbs, sometimes they need to gain 5 lbs. Some need to maintain.....there's no rule that says you MUST have X amount of lbs to lose to be on here.0

I don't understand why you care how many pounds anyone has to lose. If you don't want support from those people then don't friend them.
From your perspective can you only be here if you're X amount overweight? That's nonsense.0 -

I'm here to maintain as well. I lost the 60 lbs before I tried MFP and was floundering trying to figure out how to maintain. MFP helps me maintain. Plus with my friends here we all help each other out and learn from each other.0 -
I was in maintenance for years before MFP. A nutritionist told me that accountability is for life, so I decided to try it. I've been here since March, dropped a few final pounds that I never thought were coming off. The best part is that I have a network of friends to encourage, and who encourage me in my healthy life. It is a great way to stay on track!0

Also - not everyone is healthy just because they are at a low weight or don't have a lot to lose. MFP is about getting healthier overall.0

People get many different things out of this website...some for the support from friends, some from advice and ideas on the bulletin boards, others for accountability to help lose weight and others for maintaining or even gaining weight. Personally I have found accountability in terms of learning portion sizes (and being honest about what I eat) but also many people who have provided support, insight as well as great ideas and recipes on improving my health overall. Whatever an individual's goals may be, I support that they have taken the first step by joining MFP and applaud their efforts!0
