I've been on MFP since January this year training and counting every calorie in order to drop the weight and inches to qualify for the Navy!

I was wondering if anyone else joined MFP in order to lose weight and get in shape for the military (any branch!)?

Height: 5' 3"
Waist 31"; Hips 45"; Neck 14"
SW: 232lbs
CW: 189lbs
GW: 160lbs

What are some things you've tried that've worked well to help you drop pounds/inches? Supplements, eliminating certain food, etc.?

What's been your biggest challenge so far? For me... Running! and pushups.... my running still needs help though haha!

*Shrug* I'm curious and want to meet more people with similar goals..... or if you're already serving, what are some tips you'd like to pass on that helped you? :flowerforyou:

Side Note: I haven't been accepted into the Navy yet... I still have 3 inches to lose (off my waist &/hips) to get down to the max body fat % they allow (35%... I'm currently at 38% body fat by their standards) .... I am aiming to become a MA (specifically the K-9 Unit; hence why my profile picture is a german shepard and someone in the Navy work uniform)
  • Hey! I'm Jennifer. I just posted about the same thing haha
I'm trying to drop the weight to join the Navy, too! Feel free to add me :)

Hi! im heather.... I too am trying to lose weight to join the Navy (reserves for me)!! I am at 195 and have to be down to 163 for my height of 5'6 to join. My husband is in the navy so I have a lot of knowledge about boot camp and the general lifestyle. I have wanted to join for about 10 years now (wow showing my age...lol) but it was always one thing after another as to why I never did it. Now that my husband is in and I know more about what to expect I am really trying to lose this weight and get in!

Hey!! Is everyone navy? Lol I'm wanting to lose the weight for the army reserves!!
  • Hey guys! My names Victoria and I'm trying to drop all my extra weight to join the Marines! Finally I find people who are having similar issues like me. Right now my biggest concern is getting my mile back down to 10 minutes and making sure I can run a mile and a half in 15. It feels like such a long drawn out process, but this time I will succeed. We can motivate each other! Haha

I hope you guys don't mind but I definitely plan on adding each one of you!
