I was at a spin class this morning and there were 2 males in front of me. about 25 minutes into the class the sweat was absolutely pouring off them and I was thinking to myself, I really am pushing myself and always try to in exercise classes and when I go to the gym but i don't sweat half as much as these 2 males do. Neither of the males were over weight, they both looked like fit men but I was just wondering what factors could make them sweat so much?
This isn't the first time I've seen them or other people like it.
WHY CAN'T I SWEAT LIKE THAT
?

No idea, some sweat more than others, I happen to be a heavy sweater, even when really fit and at goal weight and below...I go red in the face and pour with the stuff...when I used to do spin class, quite a few did not appear to be heavy sweaters like me...wish it was the other way round sometimes...
Perhaps your body doesn't get as overheated as ours?0 -
Lack of sweat doesn't mean you aren't working hard. Some people just sweat more than others. I wouldn't stress about it - most heavy sweaters would love to trade places with you. I sweat heavy.....so there is no way I could ever work out on my lunch break or take a class before going somewhere. I always need a towel and I sweat right through my headbands. It's a gross badge of honor, and most of the time I don't mind, but it would be nice to not be drenched sometimes.0

They may have taking a thermogenic for a fat burner. I am a sweater by nature. I can be strolling on the treadmill and look like I just walked out of a sauna. It's gross. LOL Everyone is geared differently. Good for you for going to class!!0

Real question is, why would you want to sweat like that?
Sweat has nothing to do with a calorie burn or how hard you are working.. all it does is cool the body off.
When I work out and it's super hot out, I sweat like a pig... when it's cooler out, I barely sweat because my body doesn't get as hot. I still get the same calorie burn either way.. just the amount of sweat is different.0 -
I sweat like a pig with next to no exertion. My friend who is much less fit can run a 5K with me and just be a bit "dewey" looking. Just the luck of the draw on sweat glands I guess.0

I sweat more when I'm running than when I'm strength training. To begin with, I thought I wasn't trying hard enough because I wasn't sweating heavily, but then decided that some people are "sweaters" and some "not so much".0

Oh okay. I thought the more you sweat the harder your working and the more calories/fat you burn.
This really is a relief as sometimes i'm pushing myself so hard, think i'm doing well and then the person by me is sweating loads and I feel like I've done hardly anything.
Thank you for all the replies0 -
A lot of people equate sweat with hard work. My hubby is 300 lbs and can work up a sweat walking upstairs! It has a lot to do with genetics and also sometimes with just being overweight and out of shape. A HRM would be a great investment if you want to see if you really are pushing yourself.0
