New! Friendless!

Hi, I'm Anna. I'm a 25 year old geek that weighs 149lb. I eat whatever I want and do whatever I want. Well, maybe not anymore. I've been logging my food intake, and I seem to hit somewhere between 1100-1500 calories per day. I have a ton of food allergies and deficiencies that are pretty particular to what I eat, so I tend to eat in excess to make up for what I can't eat.

Here's what I can't eat: Almonds, citric acid, milk, artificial sugar (Aspartame, present in ALL gum, and diet soda)

Here's what I'm deficient in: Calcium, vitamin c, iron.

The hope is to eventually create a food intake plan that hits around the 1200 mark regularly and allows me to eat delicious foods. I cook at home nearly every day, and I refuse to cook things like beans and rice just because it's good for you. I'm hoping to cut out most of the bad stuff like pasta and get into things like vegetable stir frys that are healthy and delicious. Flavor is incredibly important to me.

My exercise plan is like this: I blew out my right knee last January, so I can no longer run or cycle. So I spend about 20 minutes on the elliptical at level 3-5. Then I do a set of leg presses for 20 reps at 40lbs. Or weighted squats (almost up to 10lb), since those are more beneficial for my knee-- but it does take a lot out of me. And I do all of this almost every day.

So here's my request: I would like a friend who isn't so hard on me-- I'm not incredibly overweight and although I'd like to lose 25lb, I'm sure that once I sort my diet out I will drop those pounds. What I like seeing is what other people eat, and what they do to keep their calorie intake low, and that itself motivates me.

If you are considering me as a friend: I am a quiet geek, a biochem student. I am honest and sometimes blunt, but only in the nicest way. Someone (A) once told (B) that (B) should stop describing herself as "curvy" when (B) was actually "obese". I stepped in and said "I'm not familiar with those words, but I do know one thing; You both are incredibly gorgeous." I'm sickened by girls who think just because they're skinny, they have a monopoly on good looks. I don't think they know what it means, "good looks". More often than not, ladies, if you are "curvy", guys will still want to get with you. And that is exactly what I mean by "I am blunt". So if you can't handle that, don't be my friend.

    Hey Anna,

Welcome - I'm a 30 year old geek with a fair bit more to lose and while I've only been here a week, I've found people to be friendly and encouraging...everyone has their own specific goals - from weight loss to weight gain or even maintaining/toning.

You're more than welcome to add me as a friend and I wish you all the best on your weight loss journey

    Stephen
  • I'm also new & I'd love to be a friend. I definitely will not be hard on you, as I have medical issues that prevent me from going too hard. I'm now weak from lifestyle change for the worse. I was doing much better in TN. It's very diicult to see how I feel now.
