  • I don't mind it because it shows me that the person saying it cares about how I'm doing.
  • Or the "you sure look tired today" comment... I get that. I usually respond with "and you are looking particularly gorgeous yourself" and they shut up :) LOL!

Even worse, when I feel just fine and more than one person tells me I look tired! This has happened on more than one occasion, apparently I just look tired all the time. =(

I have to wear an eye concealer pretty much every day or people ask if am sick and tired. It's always been like this. 95% of the time I feel just fine and got at least 8 hours of sleep. I guess it's hereditary. Most of the women in my family have very dark circles under their eyes.

    i get this A LOT!

i have bad allergies - suffered from them since i was a kid - and subsequently have allergy shiners :) basically dark circles under my eyes.

the constant 'oh you look so tired' annoys the crap out of me!

I don't mind when I actually am tired or sick, I think it's nice that people care how I'm feeling.

However, when I decide to skip makeup for the day and people say I look sick and tired, I get pissed. :/

The only time I remember hating that was back when I was a teenager and anorexic. But I was the type to cover it up, didn't want anyone to know I was less than "perfect" while trying to look "perfect" and be "perfect". So if someone told me I looked like crap (which happened most often from a teacher who had been anorexic herself as a teen), I found myself instantly infuriated. Now, in my old age of 29, I'm just like "Yeah, well, I never sleep, have two small kids, and manage a massive corporate account all by myself.... sometimes I look like crap".

Does it makes me feel bad hearing that? Definitely not, I honestly couldn't care less about these comments. That's how people are, they just... talk. No bad intentions, just observations. And for some reason they feel like they need to express them with words.
Somebody could tell me that I look like a piece of **** and I don't mind. I'm not a person who gets easily offended or takes words their hear to heart. I like when somebody compliments on my looks tho, but I guess who don't...
