Well, I'm not a runner, never have been. But I was on the track team in high school  I only got to run the relay race because I was so slow  Anyway, I want to start jogging. I'm going to start slow, just around our neightborhood block. I know my husband would probably go with me  (he can run, so I know he'd just be doing it to make me happy. I'm so much slower than him) After one block I know I'll soon be able to add more laps around. Anyway, that's my new goal

    Good for you!
I want to be a runner someday but I feel that I need to get some more weight off me before I start. I also have asthma so I think if I wait til I'm around 200 or maybe a little higher it would be doable.
Let us know how you do.

I have a new found love for running; it's great at getting more weight off.
Have you looked into the c25k program? www.coolrunning.com is the site that gives the 9 week program that will train you for a 5k. i'm about to start week 5 and I am loving it! Good luck with your new goal, you'll love running!

Don't let your weight inhibit you from doing what you want to do. Just start slow and build up gradually. I used to be able to only jog (at maybe a 15 min pace) for less than a minute! I'm not able to run a full mile yet, but I'm working on it steadily. Plus, running will help you lose weight faster than walking.

Hi I have the same resolution. I started last night and could only go so far but I felt really good afterwards. I will just start slow. I have looked at the C25K programme too - it looks great! I just need to get a new ipod - love that it gives you cues of when to run/walk.
