Government regulations allow companies to round down to 0 on nutrition labels, if their calorie content is below 5. So a lot of things have calories. :)

I was surprised to discover coffee had calories - not many but a few. Of course when I started tracking the coffee, I realized I had not been tracking the milk that went in the coffee. Now both get entered.

I know when I make a pot of coffee, the calorie content is 20 calories per 6 cups.

I just think at the end of the week is a cough drop or piece of gum really going to derail us? nah, so I don't worry about it :):):)

Most spices do- cinnamon, black pepper etc, but it's only around 6 cals per teaspoon. I log the cals from cinnamon (as I'll have a whole teaspoon in my smoothies) but not anything else.

I know cinnamon has calories and carbs. I don't log my vitamins/supplements or my occasional Halls...they don't add up that much (IMO)

I actually logged all my cough drops when I had a cold two weeks ago. I wanted to also log the syrups but couldn't find a calorie count for them anywhere online. Big or small, every calorie counts!

There are some spices that are helpful in burning fat. Cayenne Pepper, Ginger, Cinnamon and Mustard.

And yes some spices have calories but usually in minimal amounts. A teaspoon of black pepper has 5 calories, dried basil leaf has 2 calories, garlic powder has 5 calories, etc.

You can find the calorie value of any spice online. Also, if you use fresh herbs instead of dried, there is fewer calories.

It's so minimal it isn't even worth talking about.

So if I ate my lipgloss, would that be lower in calories?

It may be minimal but in my book every little bit helps.

The best plan for enduring weight loss includes a healthy diet and regular exercise, but select spices can have at least a small effect on burning calories. These spices have thermogenic properties, the ability to turn up your body's temperature to assist it with burning fat. The more fat burned and released from your body, the more you will lose weight. Some spices are tasty, as well, and are welcome flavor-enhancers to your normal diet.

my fish and flaxsee oil, glucosamine, some mutivitamins and n acetyl cysteine. It took me a few days to realize I wasn't logging over 100 calories a day.

I don't really log spices though when I cook, generally I may be adding a couple calories per serving so I'm ok with not logging those.
