Hey guys, I turn 18 next week, and as per tradition, my grandparents take me out to dinner at a place of my choice. Any ideas on what I should choose that is delicious, but will still allow me to be somewhat healthy? I don't want to screw everything up in one night.

Eat whatever the heck you want!

What if you pick your absolute favorite meal but only eat half?
Bring the rest home for the next day (or to give to a boyfriend or sibling).
And then you can also enjoy a guilt free piece of cake.
If there was ever a time to have fun and not stress about calories your birthday dinner with your grandparents would be it!
ETA:
If you still want to eat sensibly pick a salad with a vinaigrette dressing on the side or a grilled protein with extra vegetables for sides rather than a starch. Avoid anything fried or "creamy' because those will be overly fatty. Ditch the soda and drink seltzer or water with lime, or diet soda if you like it. Try not to snack on the chips or bread they bring out before your meal and you will save a ton of calories. Whatever you decide to do, have a happy birthday!0 -

THIS. it's your birthday, one treat day isn't going to ruin your progress. You can lose weight and still live a little On my birthday next month I plan on going to Olive Garden and eating breadsticks galore!! Happy early birthday!0 -
We just had an anniversary dinner out and I stuck with grilled salmon, a green salad (no cheese or bacon!) oil and vinegar dressing on the side with a dry baked potato. I ate half of my dinner roll. Easy to do if you look at the menu ahead of time and plan it out. I've found it's SO much harder to choose when just staring at the menu when you get there. And don't be afraid to ask the wait staff how things are cooked - butter, etc! Happy 18th birthday!0

You guys are awesome I really like the "choose favorite and only eat half" idea! It's true... I become an adult only once. My 21st birthday doesn't matter because I don't drink, so this is IT. haha And looking ahead is a great idea too! I love carbs, mainly pasta, which place is best for that?0
