What types of Calorie food should i not eat?

what are the bad type of calories to eat food wise?? I realize it will take me a while to understand how and what to do on a low calorie diet any help would be great thanks
PS.. should i stay away from pasta rice breads? or should i make sure its a certain amount and type of each when i do eat it?

Why don't you track what you eat for a week? You'll catch on quickly to what is calorie dense and what is easier on the count. Balance is important. You need complex carbs, protein, fat but probably not in the proportions you're eating now.0

A good rule of thumb is stay away from processed foods.
Fresh fruit and veggies, all kinds of meats, eggs, go for whole grain pastas and breads rather than white.
You'll get the hang of it soon enough, just try logging foods BEFORE you eat then, so you can see if they're worth it0 -
IMO, the only"bad" calorie foods are the ones you're allergic to and/or body can't process them.0

Agree with this. Logging was what really showed me where I was messing up every day - especially when you consider how satisfied/full you feel after eating various things.
For example, a small handful of peanuts is very calorie-dense (320 calories) but I feel fuller and far more satisfied compared to a calorie-equivalent of potato chips. So, most of the time I stay away from potato chips just because it feels like a waste of 300 perfectly good calories since it won't make a dent in my hunger. Also, I have slowly but surely decreased the amount of calories I drink (fruit juices, sweetened coffees, soda) for the same reason. I'm not saying there is anything 'wrong' with potato chips or sweetened drinks, just that the fullness/satisfaction factor is very important when you are trying to reduce calories overall.0 -
Thanks everyone that makes alot of sense yeah im slowly but surely gonna have to work my way off of processed foods .... but im getting better at it0

There a no bad foods but some foods have a lot of calories for little nutritional value. Once you start logging your food you'll see what things are blowing your budget and start making adjustments. Cutting out foods you really like will just make you miserable so you have to learn to adapt the things you like to fit your budget.0
