fire lane

There is a parking spot painted red in front of my apartment building for a fire lane. The complex has HORRIBLE parking and I frequently walk a few blocks to my truck. Someone parks there every night all night not always the same person but frequent repeat offenders. Doyou report them? Why or why not? And why does it even bother me?

You should report them or something, what if there was a real fire?0

Of course I would report them and smile doing it. They are obviously one of those people who are too lazy to heed the law. They probably park in handicapped spaces too.0

Maybe call the non emergency number for the fire department to ask if they have any policy about this, or the building superintendent or management company. It drives me crazy when people do this in shopping areas, forcing others to drive around them because they're too lazy to walk across a driveway and blocking the fire lane, it's always either in front of a convenience store or a drug store. GRRRRRRR....0

Report them. The fire lane is there for a reason; so the fire dept can properly suppress a fire at your apartment building. Imagine if the car(s) is parked there, a fire breaks out and the fire dept can't properly fight it. I'd report it and not lose any sleep about it. As a cop and former firefighter, I don't bat an eye writing the $250 fire lane ticket or even impounding the car. In fact, I take GREAT joy in it.0

I'm reporting them! I can even do it online. There is a frequent offender parked out there now for the past 4 hours+0

report it for sure. it bothers you because you seem to have a sense of fairness and general understanding right from wrong. If you have to obey the law, everyone should have to. You can't just park in a fire lane because you don't have another parking spot. Do I not have to wait in line at the store if I'm running late? The rules don't change just because they are not convenient for your personal agenda. It would be awesome if I could break speed limits when I'm late but that isn't how it works.0
