Lack of Commitment

I have been in a Friday weigh in group since it started a little over a month ago, http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/8411-friday-weigh-in-s, and I have noticed a disturbing trend. Each week fewer and fewer people actually post/weigh in. I wonder if they have "quit" or if they did not see positive results so they did not wish to post, but the whole idea of a support group is to post what you have accomplished (good or bad) so the other group members can encourage and support your efforts.
I believe this is one of the problems with weight loss; people lose their commitment and then wonder why it didn't work. It isn't easy, if it were we would all be fit, but since we are all striving for the same ending result we should encourage others to stick it out and continue to try.
I have seen in the forums over and over again "I tried this once before and..." and it makes me sad, not that people are trying to improve but that they quit in the first place. I also wonder why people bother to log in if they are not going to do anything else. I mean is it impressive that someone has logged in for 600 days if they have not lost any weight and are still morbidly obese? I don't think logging in for the simple purpose of logging in should really be a goal, but it sure seems to be for some folks.
Oh well, it would sure be nice to have more people in our Friday weigh in group that were dedicated to logging in their results.
Have A Great Week.

On point as usual John! It also seems to me that for many who stop logging their weight, especially on a weekly basis for all to see, they are embarrassed by any weight gain. Most don't realize that what you eat truly affects what you way from one day to the next. Highly salty foods will cause you to retain water - thus the scale may not move favorably for you. I guess maybe they feel they will be judged rather than supported. It's too bad really. Good luck with your group!.0

Well, it is not "my" group, I am just a member. Well I am now a moderator or admin I don't recall which, because I asked to be one so that someone could keep it running smoothly until the other admins came back or decided to participate or whatever.
In any event, you can click on this link to join: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/8411-friday-weigh-in-s0 -
So I was tempted to ask previously but I do my actual weigh-ins on Sunday, but I'd be happy to post my Friday weight on your forum if that's ok. Definitely committed, but I'm at (actually below) goal, so I'm not hoping for much movement.
Just let me know.0
