Type II diabetes for 17+ years.
Since my initial doctor visit on June 20, 2012 I have lost 42 lbs - SW 315 - CW 273. I am hoping to lose another medication from my daily routine also. So far I have cut my insulin intake on a daily basis from 120 units per day to 50 units. I have also stopped 2 medications completely and cut one medication by 50%.
I am excited because my doctor told me that it was unrealistic to think about keeping my blood sugars below an A1c average of 6.0, considering that within the last year I had A1c readings of 12.3 (glucose average of 306).
When I look at my meter averages today the 90 day ready sits at 100 - an A1c average of 5.1!!!
FYI - my tracker weight is based on my SW when I joined MFP one month after the initial doctor visit of 6/2012

Good job. I was always told diabetes is irreversable, but I'm meeting more people who thorugh diet and exercise are lessening their medications or now controlling it just through diet and exercise.0

Visit update - My A1c registered 5.3, down from 6.8 in June. My total Cholesterol value is 115, my weight was 271 - 44lbs down since starting. My BMI dropped from 42 to 38.
The doctor was very happy and so was I. I also dropped another oral medication bringing my total to 3 stopped, one cut by 50% and my insulin intake is now around 25-35 units a day compared to 120 a day in June. Again - my ticker shows my SW when I joined MFP in July.0 -

I'm always glad to see someone regain their health without drugs/surgery. Especially the young folks. Don't let any doctor tell you that something like cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure or Type II diabetes is just part of getting older. It's just not true.0 -
Great results well done you0
